The
ACE Controller is housed in a 42 x 30 x 8 inch NEMA-12 enclosure with 24
inch floor stands. A locking disconnect switch is mounted on the door.
Low voltage connectors for carousel sensors and other peripheral devices
are on the left side of the enclosure. A fan and air filter provide
forced ventilation for components inside the enclosure.
The heart of the controller is a state-of-the-art
high performance 32-bit single board computer. Its enhanced capabilities
provide faster message processing and quicker response time for higher
carousel throughput at peak order picking periods.
Unlike older IPC units, the ACE Controller has a
built-in Carousel Interface Terminal (CIT) that requires no special
software, cables, or hand held devices. Operational status of the
carousel system is continually displayed on the CIT in the form of
intuitive LCD messages. The terminal also provides for manual operation
of the carousels, message monitoring, and system configuration.
